Bonfires Prohibited

No fires are permitted on site until further notice. Guidance from Greenwich Council in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic has prohibited residents and associations from burning outside.

Bonfire smoke causes air pollution, which can have damaging health effects on everyone. People with existing health problems such as asthma, bronchitis, and heart conditions are especially vulnerable. At this time, people may also be at home with symptoms of COVID-19, which is a virus that severely affects the lungs and respiratory system.

This guidance applies to all residents and associations within Greenwich.  Further details can be found on royalgreenwich.gov.uk

Please compost your waste or take it home with you.

This advice supersedes section 4.6 of The Tenancy Agreement relating to fires.  An update will be issued when Greenwich Council update their advice.

Police tape - crime scene

Anti-social behaviour

We are sorry to report that a very serious incident of anti-social behaviour on our site has been reported to the police.  The Committee is currently working with the police to investigate this matter and identify the culprit(s).

Whilst investigations are ongoing we urge plot holders to maintain a regular and active presence on their plot and to report all unusual activity to the Committee.  Please pay particular attention to the following:

– Gates remain locked except when in use
– Report the presence of any unknown persons on site
– Anything unusual in or around water points or water butts
– Any suspected break-ins or vandalism on your plot

As part of this incident a water tank was contaminated causing a possible health risk.  All tanks have been checked but do not drink water or wash from any of the tanks.

No physical violence has been reported but we would encourage plot holders to be extra vigilant when on site and to keep a friendly eye out for neighbours and friends.

Water and Paths

The water supply has now been switched off for winter.

Some of the main paths have been cleared. The piles of vegetation on the paths for your plot have been piled up and left for you to collect and compost.

Crime Scene Do Not Cross Barrier

Theft

There have been a number of instances of theft around our site reported in recent weeks. These range from stolen plants to bank cards.

Anyone caught stealing items from another plot holder or plot will be evicted immediately.

The Committee keep a log of all incidents so please report them via email at kpaa.info@gmail.com or via Facebook.

Please help keep the site secure by locking the gate and keeping an eye out for anyone unfamiliar.

If you would like to help with security around the site please think about joining the Committee as the Security Officer.
